Interior Architectural Design

Interior architecture is the discipline that exists at the intersection of architectural design and interior design — concerned not with the building's structural shell nor with its decorative surfaces, but with the spatial experience of being inside the home. It addresses ceiling planes and height variations, room proportions and sequences, the design of stairs and transitions, the placement and proportion of fireplaces, the profiles of moldings and trim, and the spatial strategies that give rooms their fundamental character.
