Carmel Road
A completed new-construction project on Carmel Road. Emerald & Oak provided full interior design, including furniture and furnishings, alongside exterior and interior construction design. Every selection was made by Emerald & Oak.
## Exterior
A contemporary façade with pale walls, dark-framed glazing and a patterned approach.
The broad approach leads to a tall glazed entrance. Pale wall planes contrast with darker wood-toned sections and black window frames, giving the exterior a clear, layered composition.
## Entrance
The glazed entrance framed by contrasting wall surfaces and planted borders.
The closer view shows the entrance as the centre of the façade. Large panes of glass connect the exterior approach with the interior beyond, while planted borders soften the base of the walls.
## Foyer
A tall foyer with dark walls, glazed doors and sculptural brass-toned lighting.
The light fixtures trace curved lines across the tall space. Dark wall surfaces frame the glazing; a low bench and artwork give the entrance a more intimate scale beneath the high ceiling.
## Entry console
A dark console, round mirror and pale floral arrangement beneath sculptural lighting.
The console creates a composed pause within the foyer. A round mirror and floral arrangement introduce softer outlines beside the straight lines of the windows and tall wall panels.
## Powder room
A rounded pale vanity beneath an illuminated circular mirror against a textured dark wall.
The circular mirror and curved vanity repeat a rounded silhouette at different scales. The dark textured backdrop gives the pale vanity a distinct outline, with a slim horizontal shelf extending the composition.
## Bedroom
A pale upholstered bed, ribbed feature wall and curved seating beside garden-facing windows.
The vertical rhythm behind the bed contrasts with the softness of the upholstered furnishings. Pale bedding, layered cushions and curved seating keep the room restrained, while broad windows bring the garden into view.
## Bedroom detail
A wood-front drinks cabinet and slatted wall detail beside the upholstered bed.
Vertical wood slats connect the bedside wall with the compact cabinet. A slender black pendant and pale upholstery bring contrasting lines and textures into the same view.
## Bathroom
An angular freestanding bath, glazed shower and upholstered chair beside tall windows.
The bath’s folded silhouette contrasts with the rounded chair and pale floor. The glazed shower keeps the view open, while recessed shelves and wood-front cabinetry add detail along the far wall.
## Utility room
A long sink counter with wood-front cabinetry, black fittings and framed line artwork beyond.
Daylight runs along the pale countertop beside the window. Dark fittings and wood cabinet fronts give the narrow space definition, with the artwork providing a focal point at the end of the view.
## Living room
Pale seating around a low table, a dark fireplace wall and layered patterned rug.
The seating group faces a linear fireplace beneath framed artwork. Pale upholstery contrasts with the dark wall and wood tones; a large patterned rug gathers the furnishings into one composition.
## Living and dining
The living room viewed across dark dining chairs toward the fireplace and pale seating.
This wider view shows the relationship between the dining area and living room. The dark chair backs frame the pale seating beyond, while the fireplace provides a shared visual centre.
## Dining room
A dark dining table and chairs beneath globe lighting, beside a round mirror and panelled wall.
The round mirror and globe fixtures soften the straight lines of the dark panelling and dining furniture. The adjacent living area remains visible, connecting the two spaces without interrupting their distinct compositions.
## Kitchen
A pale island with wood-and-brass stools beneath a rectangular suspended light frame.
The island establishes a broad horizontal centre beneath the framed light fixture. Warm stool frames contrast with the pale cabinetry and countertop, while dark trim outlines the cooking area beyond.
## Kitchen island
Four brass counter stools with pale bouclé seats along a wide marble-topped island.
The repeated stool frames set an even rhythm along the island. A long glass-globe pendant mirrors that line above, while pale cabinetry and warm wood flooring keep the surrounding composition light.
## Kitchen window
A veined marble waterfall island beside a garden-facing window, brass sconces and wood cabinetry.
The window frames the treetops as the kitchen's focal point. Brass sconces and pendant glass repeat the warm metal accents, while the veined marble and walnut cabinetry anchor the room's material palette.
