Designing Nationwide

Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina — available for extraordinary residential commissions nationwide and internationally.

A Studio Without Borders

Emerald & Oak Design was founded in Charlotte, North Carolina — a city whose blend of Southern hospitality, architectural ambition, and genuine appreciation for quality of life has shaped our studio's identity since 2014. Our roots in Charlotte inform everything we do: the warmth of our client relationships, our reverence for craftsmanship, and our conviction that a beautiful home is not a luxury but a necessity for a well-lived life.

Yet exceptional homes are not confined to a single city. Across the United States, discerning homeowners are building and renovating residences of extraordinary ambition — projects that demand a design partner with the creative depth, material connoisseurship, and sustained attention that only a deliberately small, boutique studio can provide. This is why Emerald & Oak welcomes projects nationwide.

Whether a waterfront estate in Palm Beach, a mountain retreat in Aspen, a brownstone renovation in Boston, or a contemporary compound in Beverly Hills, we bring the same creative stewardship to every commission: deep listening, architectural awareness, uncompromising material standards, and the kind of personalized attention that transforms a house into an enduring expression of its inhabitants.

How We Collaborate Across Distance

Our founder-led practice model exists precisely to enable the depth of engagement that every project deserves, regardless of its geographic location. A single creative director leads each commission from initial consultation through final installation, traveling for all critical project milestones: site assessments, material presentations, millwork reviews, and installation oversight.

Between visits, we maintain close communication through detailed design presentations, material sample deliveries, and regular progress updates. Our collaborative relationships with architects, builders, and artisans across the country ensure that local construction expertise is paired with Emerald & Oak's creative vision — producing homes that are both beautifully designed and meticulously executed.

"Many clients building second homes — or relocating to a new city — seek a trusted design partner who can bring creative continuity to residences in different markets. This is precisely the kind of engagement at which Emerald & Oak excels."

Why Clients Choose a Boutique Studio for National Projects

Large metropolitan design firms often manage dozens of concurrent projects, distributing creative leadership across junior designers and relying on standardized processes that prioritize efficiency over intimacy. Emerald & Oak represents a fundamentally different model: a studio where the principal designer's creative vision guides every decision, where client relationships are personal and enduring, and where the quality of each individual project is never compromised by volume.

For homeowners who have experienced the impersonal reality of high-volume design firms, Emerald & Oak offers something increasingly rare: a creative partner who knows your name, remembers your preferences, and treats your home as the most important project in the studio — because it is.
