SOUTHPARK · CHARLOTTE, NC

The creative headquarters of Emerald & Oak Design — a luxury interior design studio rooted in one of Charlotte's most established neighborhoods, serving discerning homeowners across Myers Park, Eastover, SouthPark, Ballantyne, Lake Norman, and select clients nationwide. For those comparing interior designers in Charlotte, NC, the studio offers something rare: a physical space where every material can be seen, touched, and reviewed in person.

Five designers. One point of contact.

Our SouthPark studio is home to a team of five designers working under Miriam Peters’ personal direction. Where many firms hand clients to junior staff, Miriam leads every commission herself and remains your direct point of contact from first meeting to final installation — with the full resources of the studio behind every decision.

Rooted in SouthPark, Serving Charlotte's Finest

Emerald & Oak Design's studio is located in the heart of SouthPark — Charlotte's premier enclave for luxury retail, fine dining, and refined residential living. The address at 4401 Barclay Downs Drive places the studio within minutes of the neighborhoods where we work most frequently: the tree-lined estates of Myers Park, the historic residences of Eastover, the contemporary new builds of Foxcroft, and the established homes that define the SouthPark corridor itself.

This proximity is intentional. When designing a home in Myers Park or coordinating a new construction interior design project in Ballantyne, the ability to visit the site within minutes — to evaluate light conditions at different hours, to meet with builders on short notice, to personally inspect millwork installations — elevates the precision and responsiveness that define our practice.

The SouthPark studio serves as both a creative workspace and a curated material library. Clients visit to review stone slabs, evaluate fabric drapes against natural light, examine hardware finishes in person, and experience the tactile reality of materials that photographs alone cannot convey. Many engagements begin with a strategic design consultation here before progressing into full-service interior design or a whole-home renovation.

The Studio Experience

The studio at 4401 Barclay Downs Drive is designed around the way we work: large-format material presentations, natural light for accurate color evaluation, and a calm environment where design decisions can be made with clarity and confidence.

Our curated material library includes hundreds of stone, tile, hardwood, wallcovering, fabric, and hardware samples from the industry's most distinguished sources. Rather than overwhelming clients with options, we pre-curate selections aligned with your home's architectural direction — presenting three to five refined options for each material category, each thoughtfully vetted for quality, durability, and aesthetic integrity. This is the foundation of our design selections & finish coordination service.

For new construction projects, the studio becomes a collaborative workspace where builders, architects, and clients converge to review interior elevations, evaluate fixture selections, and confirm finish specifications before a single tile is set. This upstream involvement — a hallmark of our work with custom home builders and the foundation of every kitchen and bath design commission — prevents costly change orders and produces homes of extraordinary cohesion. Clients can also explore our custom cabinetry & built-ins and turnkey design programs in person.
