Highland Forest

A Charlotte whole-home interior design project. Explore the relationship between architecture, furnishings and light through the rooms shown below.

Kitchen

A marble island, brass pendants, warm wood cabinetry and a coffered ceiling.

The island sits beneath a pair of lantern-style pendants. Warm cabinetry gives the pale stone and painted ceiling a contrasting edge; the stools repeat the brass tone at a smaller scale.

Living room

A sculptural fireplace, pale seating and shelving beneath a brass chandelier.

The fireplace forms a strong central composition, with shelving on either side. Pale upholstered seating keeps the room visually open while the chandelier adds a finer, branching silhouette above.

Primary suite

A brass canopy bed, upholstered seating and a sculptural fireplace.

The canopy draws a clear outline within the room rather than filling it with a solid mass. Curved seating and the fireplace soften that geometry, while tall windows bring light across the layered textiles.

Primary bathroom

A freestanding tub, wood vanity and upholstered ottoman beside a large window.

The bath combines a long vanity with a separate tub near the window. The wood cabinetry and upholstered ottoman introduce warmth and texture beside the stone surfaces.
